Greetings Readers and Fellow Bloggers-
I have always mulled over the thought of starting a blog. Several of my friends write blogs and I have been encouraged to blog as well. In many ways, I do enjoy reading and writing. I finally decided that it would be good for me to break away from the fantasy novels I regularly enjoy and see what issues people in real life face with out having to go and purchase non-fiction.
I am a "twenty something" college student, who is married to an adoring wife that is expecting a baby boy in late February. I study music and play the cello at college and have long enjoyed teaching private lessons. But I love reading and have always wanted to hobby in writing.
The bulk of my posts will probably be from the things that pop in my head when I am getting my morning coffee and stay in there for the duration of my day.
To get the ball rolling here is the item that I pondered over today. Will I be able to make the transition from student to work life after I graduate? This is something that I find occupying my thoughts many days and there couldn't be anything better to start my blog off with then this.
For the past 5 years school has been "what I do." Day after day I do homework, study for tests and go to class. Every winter and summer the classes change and I repeat the process. The faces change, the classrooms change but the expectation remains the same: do the work. In addition to classes there has always been playing and teaching cello.
But after I graduate will I be able to switch to the day to day grind of a regular job? Will having the same boss be like having the same teacher over and over again? Will it feel like the homework doesn't change? Hopefully not... Hopefully the all the schooling and experiences I have had from school will give me a leg up to getting a better job.
Either way, having a morning cup of coffee and being allowed to ponder the day before it starts will always be there and help get me through the grind. Maybe having a blog to write to will also help.
For what its worth, that's what I have to say.
